DEFINITION OF A MOPED

In most countries, the legal driving age for a moped is lower than for regular motorcycles and cars. Mopeds are typically restricted to 50 km/h (30 mph) from a maximum engine displacement of 49 cc (3.0 cu in), though there are a few variations.

  1. Moped emits 10 to 30 times the hydrocarbons and particulate emissions than the outdated Euro 3 automobile standards. Having lower displacement, it does not completely burn the fuel. In spite of that, its Fuel economy is very good..

  2. In India too, the minimum age required for driving is 16 years for motorcycles of 50cc or less and 18 for all the other vehicles.
